Basically we're not showing a login box at all if you've got home.html - there should be a login link in th nav bar. If you haven't defined anything at all we'll fall back to the old behaviour but still allow the home contents to be set via plugin.

The worst that could happen is that it destroys the universe. Not a big deal. More likely you could end up with a bunch of imported things that have to be cleaned up. Less likely but entirely possible is that nothing useful will happen at all and it'll white screen.

Freedom's just another word for "nothin' left to lose" and I'm not sure it's possible to create a UI that's hated more than Friendica.
